Chrono Trigger Walkthrough

Chapter 1: The Adventure Begins...

The game starts at Crono�s bedroom. His wakes him up and reminds him of the Millenial Fair At Leene�s Square. Go downstairs and talk to Crono�s mother. (You can change Lucca�s name here if you want.) Talk to Crono�s mother again and she�ll give Crono his alloance. Then go out and head for the mayor�s office first. Take what you can and if you think you need advice talk to the people upstairs. (Talk to the mayor twice for 100 gp.) Now head for Leene square. At the fair you can play 5 different mini games:
1: Hit the bell; prize: 1 Silver point(s)
2: Soda guzzling; prize: 5 Silver point(s)
3: Gato; prize; 15 Silver point(s)
4: Guess the winner; 20 Silver point(s)
5: Tent of horrors: You can play 3 different games here. (You�ll need 40 Silver points to play the second game and get something valuable, a Crono clone. You�ll need it later.)
You can also buy weapons from Melchior (remember his name. There�s more in that guy that meets the eye.) Don�t forget to buy armors as well. If you�re short on money find the booth that exchanges 10 silver points to 50 gp. At the fair you�ll see a young girl in a white dress running around, walk to her and you�ll bump heads. The girl introduces herself as Marle and Crono agrees to show her around the fair.
NOTE! What you do at the fair now affects your position when Crono is put on a trial.

Things that affect positively: Find the young girl�s lost cat.
Things that affect negatively:
If you eat the old man�s lunch.
If you pick up Marle�s pendant before you talk to her.
If you say yes when Melchior asks to buy Marle�s pendant.

When Lucca�s device is ready go to north end of the square. Try the telepod once and talk to Marle. Once the telepod starts to work something goes wrong. A strange gate opens and Marle is pulled in and her only pendant her pendant is left behind. As soon as you can pick up the pendant and Lucca turns the machine on you`ll be propelled to where Marle was. Lucca says that she�ll follow you when she finds out what went wrong so you�ll have to make it on your own until she gets there.


Chapter 2: Where am I?

Once you get through the time gate. Fight the enemies that attack you. They�re not tough so don�t worry. When you get out of the canyon go into the houses and talk to the people but watch your mouth: some people might think you�re nuts. Once you�re done talking to the people haed for Guardia forest. Make your way through to the castle. At the door the guards try to throw you out but queen Leene stops them. She ask to speak to you in her room. (She�s acting strangly though.) At the queens room Leene dismisses her staff so you won�t be bothered. Leene turns out to be Marle. Soon after something goes wrong when you talk to Marle she disappears in bright flash of light. Go downstairs. Lucca meets you and explains what�s happening. Get out of the castle and head for the cathedral. Talk to nun next to the organ then examine the shiny object on the floor. It�s a coral hair pin. (It�s also Guardia�s royal crest.) The hair pin belongs to Queen Leene so she must be in here somewhere. The nuns turn out to be monsters in disquise and they attack you. Once you clear them out one more teleports in and attacks Lucca but Frog jumps in defeats it. After a short conversation you must choose will you let Frog in your party or not. Frog is a powerful fighter and He�s more useful than harmful. One good tip here is to play the organs whenever you see them. When you reach the boss�s room you�ll see that it�s the chancellor. He throws his disquise away and attacks you. He�s not as tough as he seems. After he�s defeated open the chests and free the real chancellor Yakra stuffed in the chest. (How he stuff him in such a small chest?) In the castle go to the queen�s room and Marle will reappear. Then leave the castle and go to the same canyon where you got here. Lucca introduces her newest invention: "The Gate Key". You can now use the gates as you like. Well, use key and go back to your own era.


Chapter 3: Trial

When Crono, Marle and Lucca emerge from the timegate in their own era Lucca goes home saying that she has something to do and asks that you escort Marle home. Do as she asks. When you get get into the castle Crono is arrested for kidnapping Marle and is put on a trial. What you did at the fair when in the beginning affects your position at the trial now. You must answer truthfully to the questions. (It WAS you who started the mess so answer "yes". But answer "No" when the chancellor claims that you were going to hold Marle for ransom.) Other than that there�s not much you can do. You�ll be jailed no matter what.


Chapter 4: Escape the prison

When Crono wakes up in his cell look around. If there�s a bundle on your bed open it. If you need HP�s or MP�s restored drink from the cup on the table. Then start annoying the guards by hitting the bars. One of them comes in and slashes you. When he turns his back knock him out. When you�re looking for a way out try to knock out the guards in the corridors. (Some them have mid tonics so search them.) When you see a guy in a gilliotine help him. (This�ll be rewarding in the future.) When you get to the supervisor Lucca knocks him out. Search him. (He has 5 mid tonics.) Then read the paper on the floor and rest and save the game. Go out and fight the Dragon tank. When you escape down the stairs take any valuables you can now. You won�t be able come back to castle in a long time. When the guards try restrain you Marle stops them. (Deja V� maybe?) After you escape from the castle you�ll be cornered in a clearing. Dead end? Nah, there�s a gate. After Marle and Lucca are done arguing wheter to use it or not activate it with the gate key and you�ll get pulled into another unknown era.


Chapter 5: Lavos�s future

After everyone is recovered from the shock go out and look around. It looks like a world after a nuclear war. Go to Trann dome which is south of Bangor dome. (You got here from Bangor dome.) Talk to the people and buy equipment. Then head north and make your way through Lab 16. After you get out of lab 16 you can go either to Arris dome or the Sewer access. In Arris dome make your way to the storage room and defeat the robo guard. Take the seeds in the storage room and then capture the rat to learn how to get to the computer room. In the computer room Lucca starts to fiddle it and manages to find a gate in Proto dome. Then Marle pushes a button and it activates a visual record from "The day of Lavos". (Now you know how the future got was messed up.) Crono, Marle and Lucca swear to defeat Lavos to save the future and stop the destruction of the world. Climb back back up and talk to the old man, he gives you a jet bike key. Go out of the dome and go to Lab 32. You�ll have to race a robot here. After and if you get past him go to Proto dome.


Chapter 6: A new friend

In Proto Dome you�ll find a badly damaged robot. Lucca starts working on it. After a long while a Lucca manages to fix it and gives it a jumpstart. The robot introduces himself as R-66Y. You�ll get a chance to change Robo�s name if you want. Three of you head to the abandoned factory up north to activate the reactor. You�ll have to decide who stays here to open the door once the generator starts running. (Marle is more useful in the factory than Lucca.) Then head for the factory.


Chapter 7: Back to where?

In the factory have Robo decipher the computer�s text. He can also shut down security systems and gain valuable information through the computer terminals. First search the factory area and find the code for the generator room door. (It�s...well I�m working on a tip section so you might wanna check it out.) In the way to the generator room you�ll have to shut down some laser grid defences. Once you have switched the generator on you have to get out because the security system goes haywire. (You can�t use elevators.) After a while Robo meets his friends: Other R-series robots. They�ve changed though and they cream Robo badly. Give them the same treatment. Then Crono and Marle (or Lucca) take Robo back to Proto dome and try to fix him. After a few hours Lucca manages to restore Robo. Then the four of them decide to fight against Lavos together and try to give the planet a chance to survive.


Chapter 8: Where did Lavos come from?

When all of you step to the gate something goes wrong. You�ll end up in a weird place. Talk to the old guy. He�ll tell you where you are. One of you has to stay behind. Before you leave go to the room in the back and talk to the thing. Do as he says and he�ll teach you magic. (Robo can�t learn magic so you should have Crono, Marle and Lucca in your party when you visit him for the first time.) Then use the light pillar that takes you to Medina village in the year 1000 A.D. (Mystics live in the village and they hate humans so watch your back.)


Chapter 9: Revelations

In the "Village of magic" talk to everyone, but be careful mystics aren�t too fond of humans. In the village square you can obtain valuable information about Lavos and where it came from. Once you get all the information you need go out and find Melchior�s hut. Buy new weapons from him. Then head to the cave. (The monsters here are weak against magic so use it.) The boss of the cave, Heckran can only be harmed with magic. When he tries to provoke you to attack don�t attack. Use this moment to heal yourself. (Marle�s healing powers are valuable here.) When the Heckran dies listen carefully his final words. You now know enough about where Lavos was originated:
In 600 A.D. a wizard named Magus apparently created Lavos to destroy the planet�s future. So head to 600 A.D. First visit the shop. The guy you saved works there. He�ll reward you nicely. Also visit Crono�s and Lucca�s house. Then head to 600 A.D.


Chapter 10: How to fight Magus?

Once you arrive to 600 AD go to Zenan bridge and talk to the Knight captain. Then go to Guardia�s castle and talk to the king. Then go talk to the chef. When you�re about to leave he stops you and gives you a jerky. Take it to the Knight captain. Suddenly Magus�s troops commence a fierce attack. When the knight captain asks you to help, agree. He�ll give you a helmet as thanks. Then go to the bridge and watch as the knights are beaten and Magus�s top general Ozzie appears. When you get to the end of the bridge Ozzie summons a gigantic skeleton called Zombor and sends it after you. Defeat it and cross the bridge.


Chapter 11: Find the Masamune

In the village of Denaro you`ll learn that the Masamune sword is needed to fight Magus. Go to the village of Porre down in the south. There talk to the people then head for the cursed woods. Find the bush that looks different find the ladder behind it. This is Frog�s house. But you you ask him to accompany you he declines and says that he can�t help you. Leave the woods and head to Denaro mountains. There are two tricks to know when you�re fighting here: 1. When you run into a goblin with a club use Lucca�s firemagic to burn it. The monster is easy without it. 2. When you�re fighting Masamune�s second form use Crono�s slash attack when he�s storing tornado energy. When the Masamune is beaten you�ll get the blade for Masamune. The sword is broken in two. After you�re thrown off the moutain go rest in Porre inn. Then go to Tata�s house and talk to him he gives you the Hero�s medal. Then return to Frog�s place and open the chest. The hilt for Masamune is there. Lucca or Robo depending which one of them you have in your party will translate the script that�s engraved on the hilt. (The script reads "Melchior".) So the sword must belong to Melchior. So head back to Melchior�s hut in Medina village.


Chapter 12: Dreamstone

Melchior tells you that he can fix the Masamune if you provide him the Dreamstone. Unfortunately you can�t find dreamstone can�t be found anymore. Dreamstone is an ancient mineral that was used as money. Head back to the end of time and use the pillar that takes you to 65 000 000 BC. The dreamstone can be found there. As soon as you land down you have to fight monsters. After they�re defeated you�ll too many. Suddenly a woman jumps out of the bushes and defeats most of them. You�ll still have to fight off some of them. After the conversation follow her into the village and attend the party. If you defeat Ayla in the soup race you�ll get the Dreamstone.


Chapter 13: Find the thief!

You�ll wake up in the morning and find out that the gate was stolen from you when you were sleeping. Go to Ayla�s hut and talk to her, then head south to the forest maze. Follow the footprints and find your way to the reptite cave. Find Azala the reptite king. When he demands you to explain what the gate key is to him it doesn�t matter what you answer: It�ll be a fight anyway. Use Crono�s thunder spells against the boss and have Marle ready to heal the party. After the fight Azala gives you the gate key and escapes. (Ayla ate too much soup last night and she throws up.) Now you have the dreamstone and the gate key so go to the mystic mountains and use the gate. In the end of time visit Spekkio. He should be in a different form. He�s harder to beat but try it. Then head to Melchior�s hut and have him fix the Masamune. Then take the Masamune to Frog.


Chapter 14: Onward to Magus�s castle!

After Frog joins you eqiup him with the Masamune and the hero�s medal. Then head to the magic cliff. Watch the scene. After it Frog takes the Masamune and slits the rock in two opening a cave. The monsters in side are vulnerable against magic so use it. After the battle frog wonders that how can you use magic. You explain it to him. After a little walk you�ll see a soldier�s corpse lying on the ground. Take careful note of the message. Leave the cave and save the game before you enter Magus�s castle. Walk around until you find Ozzie. Then select one of the staircases. It doesn�t really matter which one you choose since you have to go through both. Slash awits you on top of the left staircase and Flea awaits you on top of the right. Take careful careful note that you�re fully healed before you take on Slash; He�s tough. Flea isn�t as tough as Slash but don�t underestimate him. After they�re defeated go to the place where you met Ozzie. There should be a teleporter. Use it and chase Ozzie on top of the tower. Once he casts the barrier around himself cut the chains. (One of them drops him to a pit.) Rest and save your game on the right save point. The left one takes you to Magus. Run past the bats so you won�t have to fight them. The optimal party here is: Crono, Marle and Frog. Crono and Marle should use the double tech "Aura Whirl". The key to destroy Magus isn�t hacking him with weapons. He has a powerful armor. Magus is best damaged by magic. When he uses lightning 2 he�s vulnerabl e to lightning spells. When he uses Ice 2 he�s vulnerable to water and so on, got it? Masamune has a special effect: It lowers Magus�s magic defence. Magus is tough so be careful. After the battle it�s revealed that Magus didn�t create Lavos, he only summoned him. When you wonder where did Lavos come from then an enourmous gate materializises and everyone is pulled in, even Magus. The gate closes after Lavos�s scream. (You�ll see a WEIRD dream sequence where Marle wakes up Crono and tells him to get a job. If this one of the endings in Chrono Trigger It�s hidden well. If there�s an ending like this in Chrono Trigger somebody E-mail me the deteails!)


Chapter 15: Finish off the reptite threat

After you have rested long enough Kino wakes you up. Suddenly a villager rushes into the tent and tells that the northern woods are burning. Walk to the ruins of Laruba village and when Ayla leaves follow her. Head to the mountain range between the northern woods and the hunting range. Climb on top of the mountain and decide who�ll stay behind. (Robo is pretty useful in the Reptite lair.) In the reptite lair first head to the basement and rescue Kino andthe Laruba villagers. (The reptite lair is a long place so rest whenever you can.) Save your game before you confront Azala. Azala attacks with his pet the Black Tyrano. Azala is nearly impervious to physical attacks so use magic against him. (Remember to watch your HP�s.) The black tyrano can only be harmed when it starts to store strenght and removes his defence. This battle is tough. After Azala is defeated you�ll learn how Lavos was created: Lavos was the red star that Azala commanded to fall. When you can go search the lair ruins, you�ll find a gate. You can�t fight Lavos in this era so use the gate. It�ll pull you to the Dark ages in 12.000 BC.


Chapter 16: Answers wanted!

Now that you don�t have to worry about the reptites you can ease a little, (JUST a little.) Find the sky bridge and use it to get to the upper world. You should be in the gates of Enhasa. In Enhasa talk to everyone before you run into a kid with a cat. The kid�s Janus (or Magus as you know him.) He�ll tell you that one among you will die soon. Find the books that can be opened and open them in this order: water, wind, fire and a secret door should open enter it and read the book on the table and search the room for valuables. (There�s a lot more in Enhasa, Kajar and Zeal�s palace. But you�ll have to find them on your own.) In Zeal�s palace find Schala�s room (Who is by the way Magus�s sister and Zeal is their mother, quite a family huh?) You�ll also learn that a there�s an amazing prophet in the palace who appeared suddenly and has amazing powers. After Schala leaves the room follow her to the central corridor. Look as she uses her pendant to open the door. (Marle�s pendant is EXACTLY like Schala�s pendant, but it�s all out of power so you have to recharge it. Once recharged the pendant can open those weird chests. The way to recharge the pendant is found the palace.) You should also hear that the prophet�s aura is filled with hatred and sorrow (so he�s self-destructive.) Once you�ve recharged the pendant break the sealed door that leads to the throne room. As the queen asks who you are the prophet steps foreward and you�ll get your first glimpse of him. He�s a guy who looks familiar somehow but too bad his face is covered by a hood. He�s says that you�re the strangers that came here to cause trouble. Dalton sends a golem after you there�s a trick to fight this thing: Whatever you do it copies it. So I suggest you use a weak type spell and have someone to heal the party. This boss is pretty hard so be careful. After it�s defeated the queen says you�ll die slowly and painfully. When you wake up you�ll find yourself in somekind of beam and you�re still unconcious. Schala and Janus come in and free you. Pay close attention to what they say. Suddenly the prophet walks in and is ready to dispose you but when Schala and Janus get in the way he agrees to spare you. ("But why?! WHO is that guy???") You�re probably wondering. You�ll find out soon. The prophet agrees to spare you in return for Schala�s cooperation. After you�ve shown the prophet how you got here he throws you through the gate and commands Schala to seal it shut. Schala agrees reluctantly. After you�ve decided that you have to get back to that era since it�s likely that the key to defeat Lavos is in that period. After one of you remembers that he/she has seen those doors before in 2300 AD. So head to the sewer access and make your way to the keeper�s dome.


Chapter 17: An alternative transportation vehicle needed!

In the keeper�s dome use Marle�s pendant to the door with the weird crest. Inside search the flickering lights and pay close close attention to the information obtained here. After there aren�t anymore lights left use pendant and go through the door. You�ll find Belthasar�s ultimate creation: Epoch, a time machine capable of traveling at warp speed. As soon as you get in Epoch you�ll be transported in to the dark ages.


Chapter 18: The road to Mt. Woe.

Head to the Terra cave which is in the opposite way to the sky bridge. In the cave talk to everyone and buy new equipment and get some rest. Save your game before you head to Mt. Woe. The beast�s nest is small but a dangerous place. The boss in the end is a tricky one. Use water spells against the red beast and vice versa. Before you proceed to Mt. Woe get some rest at the save point and save your game. The montain is a dangerous place.


Chapter 19: The Guru on Mt. Woe.

In Mt. Woe you can gain loads of tech points if you fight the yellow boulders. (They�re hard to hit but if you manage to defeat them the pay is worthy.) On the mountain search everywhere; there are many valuables hidden. And be careful with the enemies they�re tough here. Before you go to the mountain top where Melchior, the guru of life is imprisoned save your game and get some at the nearest save point. You�ll have to defeat a tough boss in order to rescue melchior. Destroy one of the boss�s hands and use Crono�s and Ayla�s double tech Volt bite. This is a hard boss so watch yourself. After it�s destroyed Melchior is released and the mountain collapses. Listen carefully what Melchior says, then all of a sudden Schala walks in with Janus. Schala has very disturbing news: The ocean palace is operational. If Lavos wakes now something terrible will happen. Fortunately without Schala�s help the Mammon machine won�t work. Unfortunately Dalton walks in defeats Melchior and kidnaps Schala. When you can talk to Melchior and you�ll get a red knife, it�s made from the same red rock as the Mammon machine, (dreamstone.) With it you destroy the Mammon machine.


Chapter 20: The tragic death of Crono.

After Schala is kidnapped and you�ve gotten the red knife from Melchior head to the sky bridge and go Zeal�s palace. In the throno room Dalton is guarding the entrance so defeat him. Before you proceed to the ocean palace get some rest and save your game. At the entrance you�ll meet Masa (or Mune, I can�t remember which.) Listen to him carefully. The palace is one big maze so search everywhere to find the treasures hidden within and ways to get foreward. In the end you�ll meet Mune (or Masa, as I said I can�t remember which.) Dalton sends his Golem twins after you. Use the same tactic as with the golem. After they�re defeated Dalton almost sends the Golemboss after you but he escapes. Save your game before you enter the hall of the Mammon machine. (Throughout your journey through the palace you�ll see glimpses from the hall of the Mammon machine. The prophet is suprisingly concerned about Schala.) Once you get to the hall you�ll use the knife and suprise, suprise... The red knife turns into a sword. Masamune to be exact. Suddenly Lavos appears, but it�s way too powerful for you to handle. Lavos easily beats all of you. Suddenly the prophet appears and throws his cloak off. He�s Magus! Before Magus can act Lavos starts draining his powers. Magus Shakes out of the spell and although weak tries to attack him. Lavos isn�t affected and with a powerful blast magus is also struck to the ground. Suddenly Crono can move. Talk to your party and to Magus and to Schala. Then try to challenge Lavos (you don�t have a choice.) Lavos atomizes Crono into millions of pieces. After that you�re back at the hall of Mammon machine. If Marle is in your party (she should be.) She�ll start crying uncontrollably. Now you can take a breather and watch what happens when Lavos wakes up.


Chapter 21: A new king.

Once you�re aware what the situation is go out of the hut and buy new equipment. (From the Nu in one of the other huts.) Then go to the woods and talk to the elder. Some soldiers jump out from...somewhere and Dalton appears. With his powers he knocks you out and Snacthes Epoch. You�ll wake up in a cell. Your equipment are confiscated as well as your items including your money. Climb up the ladder and you�ll find you where are: You�re inside the Blackbird. Climb back down. You�ll find a ventalation shaft. You can get out of the cell by two ways: either use the ventalation shaft or bang on the door and act sick. (Oldest trick in the book. It works though.) if you go out through the door watch out for the guard machines and guards if you get caught you can�t use the door again. If you take the ventilation shaft you look down through the grates and see what�s expecting you. Search until you find everyone�s equipment and your items and the money then rest and save your game. Find the room that takes you on top of left wing. You�ll have to confront the golem boss. He doesn�t attack you so attack HIM with your best techniques. After he�s defeated (or if he runs away.) Anyway the fight has given Dalton enough time to remodel Epoch. You�ll have to fight him. Just use the same technique as you used the last time you fought him. When you try to take control of Epoch you�ll accidentally hit the weapon button and slice off one of the blackbird�s wings. When you get Epoch under control you�ll land on the island. Head to the cliff. (Save your game first though; you�re in for a little surprise.)


Chapter 22: Searching for ways to revive Crono.

After Magus has or hasn�t joined your group you should know now that you have to find the guru of time: only he knows how to restore Crono. When you board Epoch you�ll see that the ocean palace rises above the waves. Don�t worry about that now; head to the end of time. Save your game and talk to the old man. When you�re about to leave he gives you an egg. The "egg" is actully a magical item called "Chrono Trigger". It�s potential: It may or may not bring Crono back to life. The old man advices you to talk to the one who made your wings of time (Epoch) how to hatch it. (By now it should be obvious that the old man is Gaspar, the guru of time.) First head to 1000 AD. Now�s the time to use the doll you got from the tent of horrors. If you don�t have the doll already head to the tent of horrors and get the doll. Then head to 2300 AD and talk to Belthasar.


Chapter 23: Crono and Marle are reunited!

Belthasar tells you that on Death�s peak you�ll find the power to restore life, but in order to enable the Chrono Trigger to work it�s magic the deceased must be important to the Time-Space continum and you must have a clone that�s identical replica of the deceased. After Belthasar gives you his aid switch the creature off. Exit the dome and head to Death�s peak. In the mountain follow the creature�s instructions. The best party members here are: Magus, Marle and Frog. Magus can fry his enemies with his powerful "Shadow" magic. Also his scythe is an excellent weapon at close range. Marle can heal the party with her powerful healing spells. Frog is good fighter and he can use healing spells too. Along your way you�ll encounter three lavos spawns. These little devils are a REAL pain in the ass. Attack only at the head. This makes it impossible for Magus to use his attack magic so have to attack with normal weapons against the head. Have Marle or Frog ready to heal the party if the spawn uses it�s needle attack. After you defeat a spawn always save your game at nearest save point. After the last (third) spawn is defeated save your game. Push the shell and climb on it after the spawn dies. (Don�t forget the last chest before you go to the summit of mountain.) When you reach the end of the summit Marle pulls out the egg. The pendant gives a reaction and egg slowly floats up and blasts to pieces. For moment Marle thinks that they have failed. Suddenly the sun is eclipsed And you are teleported to the moment when Lavos killed Crono. The reason all of the persons are statues is that you�re in a time freeze. "Talk" to Schala and Magus and switch the clone to Crono. Magus says that you have to save the hellos for later. Suddenly you�re back at the summit of Death�s peak. Crono is confused but okay. Marle kneels over him and kisses him and tells him how much she has missed him and that she was heartbroken when Crono died.


Chapter 24: Your darkest hour.

The dark hour is longest and the hardest chapter in Chrono Trigger. It�s also the second last and concerns mostly on preparing for the final showdown with Lavos. Okay let�s do it!
After Crono is restored you�ll find yourself in the end of time. Talk to Gaspar, he�ll tell you how you can get strong enough to fight Lavos. You�re free to complete the quests he gives you in an order of your choise and you don�t have to complete them if don�t want to, but completing the quests will significantly ease your fight against Lavos. You should also visit Spekkio. Now for the quests:

In the middle ages a womans sheer determination brings a forest back to life.

Gaspar is refering to Fiona, a woman in the middle ages who lives near Denaro mountains. There�s a cave in the desert south of Fiona�s villa, the source of the desert is in that cave. Magus, Crono and Marle are the best group members here. If you must raise your levels or learn new techniques fight with the monsters of the cave, but keep a close eye on your MP�s: you�ll need them. The monster Retinite is responsible for the desert. Collect the treasures before you take on the Retinite; He�s tough. Use Marle�s and Magus�s Ice 2 spell to lower Retinite�s defence and attack with Crono�s confuse attack. Both parts of the Retinite have about 5000 HP�s. After the monster is destroyed return to Fiona�s villa (make sure Robo is with you.) When Robo asks that may he stay and help Fiona agree. Hop on to the Epoch and fly to 1000 AD. There�s a huge forest. Enter Fiona�s shrine and fetch the rusted Robo. You�ll spend a night on a campfire having a profound conversation. Later Lucca wakes up uses a gate and returns to the day when her mother was crippled by one of Taban�s inventions. Go downstairs and enter the password to the machine. It�s the name of Lucca�s mother (L-A-R-A) Then return to the camp. Robo gives Lucca the first item: a piece of amber called "Greendream" he created using the sap from a tree in his forest.

The evil fugative in the middle ages, Ozzie maintains an evil hideout.

This mission concerns defeating Magus�s former general Ozzie for good. Along with Slash and Flea. So off you go to the middle ages. Find Ozzie�s fort. It�s on a small i sland. Along your way to the top you�ll have to fight Flea and Slash in that order. When Ozzie tries to lure you to the chest pass it for now. An imp tries to grab it but gets chopped instead. Then open the chest. For the battle against Ozzie, Flea and Slash the best party members are: Magus, Marle and Ayla. Use Ayla�s and Marle�s double tech Twin charm on Ozzie, Flea and Slash until you get the following items: Ozzie pants, Slasher 2 and Flea vest. If you have time try to destroy Flea and Slash. You�ll get loads of exp and tech pts if you defeat them all. Next it doesn�t really matter who you have in your party. Climb upstairs and fight Ozzie. Hit the switch behind him. You�ll fall into a pit. Climb back up and a cat will push a lever a and Ozzie drops through a trapdoor and you�ve completed another section of the Dark hour. Head back to the end of time.

There is a task to be done in the future where machinery originated.

It should be obvious where this is: of course in 2300 Ad. Find the factory dome in a small island and enter it. Robo must be in your party. This area is called Geno dome. Robo opens the door you must fight against guards on the convoyer belt. In the first floor first clear the enemies and then find a terminal and read the instructions carefully. Have Robo energize himself in the pod left of the terminal. Then open the door locks in this floor except the one on top of the convoyer belt. After you�ve found one the dolls in this floor head to the second floor. Find the proceccing area. They�re turning humans into power sources for the robots! You can�t stop the machine from here. You�ll have to destroy the central computer. Take the treasures in this floor and find your way to the first floor and reverse the convoyer belt by a switch behind it. Return to the first floor. Get the guard machine to follow you and get the second doll. Then go to the second floor but rest your game and save. It�s time for Robo to come face to face with his past. You�ll encounter Robo girlfriend Atropos. She�ll force Robo to fight her. Sadly enough you�ll have to destroy her. Lucca (if she�s in your party) tries to patch her. A hopeless failure; Atropos is way beyond help. As her last act she�ll give Robo her ribbon. Atropos�s ribbon permanently ups Robo�s speed by 3 and his M.def by 10. Proceed to the command center. Fit the doll onto the sensors and the door opens. You�ll have to fight the mother brain. First destroy the screen that give the mother brain vitality. Any spell or attack that affects all destroys all the screens. The mother brain itself has about 5000 Hp�s. After it�s defeated Robo gets his ultimate weapon: Terra arm. (You�ll also get a crisis arm which is good if Robo�s low on Hp�s. Then head back to the end of time.

And there is a very special stone that can shine it�s light through generations.

Gaspar is talking about the sun stone. You�ll have to start this quest from 2300 Ad. Find the sun temple in there. Equip all the red vest you can and any other armors, helmets or accsessorys that reduce fire damage. You�re in for a hard fight. Attack the flames until you find the one that causes damege to the boss. Under no circumstance attack the center eye or use an area attack spell. The results are catastrophic for you. Once it�s defeated it turns into a moon stone. The moon stone is a sun stone but it doesn�t have an ounce of energy left. Take it with and hop onto the Epoch. Fly to 65.000.000 BC. Find the sun keep and leave the stone there. Jump to the 2300 Ad. To your amazement the sun stone is gone. Fly to 1000 Ad. That someone who snatched it is in this era. Fly to Porre and buy some jerky from the shop. It�s expensive 9900 GP. But it�s petty cash. Now you should visit Guardia�s castle. Make Marle and Crono are in your party. The chancellor tells how happy he is that Marle returned home. Go talk to Marle�s father, he should be happy that her daughter retuned home, right? Wrong! After a short fight with insults hurled from both sides Marle accuses her father for killing her mother. King says that he doesn�t want to see Marle ever again and leaves to his room. Suddenly the chancellor gets that nasty gleam in the eye. It seems that almost as if he wanted to drive Marle and her father apart. Go to the king�s room. Marle offers him the jerky. It�s his favourite so it should ease things a bit, right? Wrong again! Instead the king get even more enraged and says that he doesn�t concider Marle as his daughter and has you thrown out of castle. (Okay maybe it wasn�t such a good idea afterall but it�s essential to the plot.) Fly to 600 Ad and go to the Mayor�s house in Porre. Give the jerky to the woman for free. (You�ll need the sun stone and this is the only way to get it.) Then fly back to the same mayor�s house in 1000 Ad and talk to the mayor and he�ll give you the sunstone. Fly to the sun keep in this era and leave the stone there. Fly to 2300 Ad. The sun stone is now fully recharged. Get Lucca in your party and she�ll take the stone to her home and starts making a weapon. This time the invention works. Now Lucca has her ultimate weapon: Wondershot. Taban made sun shades using the sun stone. They increase your attack power. Okay back to the end of time.

There�s an object in the middle ages that shines like a rainbow.

The Rainbow shell is the next target. First hop onto the epoch and head to 600 Ad. Find a town called Choras. Toma should be in the inn. Talk with him and he should give you an item called Toma�s pop. Warp to 1000 Ad. There should be a grave on the north peninsula. Pour Toma�s pop on the headstone. Toma�s ghost will appear and tell you that he has tracked the Rainbow shell onto a small island. Warp back to 600 Ad. Fly onto the island called Giant�s claw. This place is a real pain in the ass. The cave is part natural, part reptite castle that was pushed underground in the impact caused by Lavos. Destroy the dinosaurs the same way as in 65.000.000 BC. Make your way to the rust tyrano. You�ll have to use the same tactics as with the black tyrano. You should have Ayla in your party: this has a really valuable item. After it�s destroyed proceed to end of the corridor. The Rainbow shell is there waiting to be picked. You try to lift it but it weights a ton. Walk to the exit. Suddenly you find yourself in castle of Guardia. After a short conversation the king agrees to get the Rainbow shell. Okay jump to the 1000 Ad. Make your party is as follows: Crono, Marle and Magus. The castle is crawling with soldiers what�s going on? A talk with a guard reveals that Marle�s father is on trial for treason. Go upstairs to the courtroom. At first the guards refuse to let Marle in but when she raises a ruckus the guards let her in. The king says that the chancellor is trying to frame him. You�re thrown out of the courtroom. Magus says that the only way to convince the people that this a set-up you have to find the Rainbow shell. Marle insists that there�s no family heirlooms in the castle. Magus calls Marle an idiot (geez, what bad manners!) And reminds her of their trip in 600 Ad. If the Rainbow shell is in the castle it must be in the treasure room. Head downstairs and use the staircase that�s furthest on the left. There�s mystics. They reveal that the "boss" is itching to revenge the grudge that�s been in the family for 13 generations. Marle realizes that there IS a plot to frame her father. You�ll see glimpses from the courtroom every now and then. When you reach the Rainbow shell Marle finds a letter from queen Leene (how she managed to write it and knows so much about Marle isn�t important, but what�s in the letter is.) The letter says that Leene knows that Marle and his father are having rough time. But she also says that nothing can break their bond. Not great distances nor words of anger. Marle grabs a piece of the Rainbow shell. Head back to the courtroom. Marle finds an alternative route to the room. Just as jury is about convict the king Marle comes crashing through the skylight and startles everyone. When the chancellor transforms into Yakra XIII you�re in for a fight. A tough one. After he�s defeated Marle and her settle all their arguments and apologize to each other. (Oh how I love happy endings, but it�s not over yet. After king has concented that Marle can stay with you if you take care of her Melchior steps in and says that it�s time that he forges something out of the Rainbowshell. Take a minute to visit the courtroom and pick up Yakra�s key. Then find the chest where the real chancellor is locked. (History repeats itself, huh?) Then go to the treasure room. Talk to Melchior and ask him to forge three prism helmets. (You�ll get the dress�s as well so forge the helmets.) Talk to Melchior again and he�ll forge you prism specs. They�re similar to the sunshades except the effect is many times more powerful. Talk to Melchior once more and he�ll combine the Sun stone with the Rainbow shell and Crono gets his ultimate weapon: a katana called Rainbow. It has a 70% chance for criticals. Okay you only have two more quests to complete before you�re face to face with Lavos.

There a ghost of a lofty knight slain by Magus in the middle ages who haunts the present.

It should be obvious who Gaspar is talking about. How many knights did Magus kill personally? That�s right Cyrus is the one you need to help. Head to 1000 Ad and fly to the northern ruins and talk to the people of Choras. One of them should advice that the structure damage in the mansion is severe. Fly to 600 Ad and find Choras�s carpenter. His tools are stolen and he can�t get any work done. Fly back to 1000 Ad and find Choras�s carpenter. He�s plastered in a bar. Then go borrow his tools from his wife. Then return to 600 Ad and give the tools to the carpenter. He�ll start repairing the northern ruins. You�ll have to seek out the monsters and defeat them and come back and get the carpenter and have him repair the ruins. This process must be repeated several times. Under no circumstance open the chests in 600 Ad. After you�ve repaired the ruins completely and defeated all the monsters then from the mainhall take the left staircase and find Cyrus�s grave after that Masamune gets even more powerful and it becomes Frog�s ultimate weapon. Then go to 1000 Ad and open all the chests in the mansion. Then return to 600 Ad and repeat the process. You�ll get all the items doubled, neat huh? You only need to complete one more quest before you�re face to face with Lavos so go for it!

One of you is close to someone who needs help find this person...fast.

The person Gaspar is referring is Magus mother, that right Queen Zeal. Okay maybe she been mean to you in the past and she�s been a b...witch even she doesn�t deserve being under Lavos�s control. Then Black omen is an excellent source of items and tech points. If you want seven prism helmets and three prism dresses you�ll have to complete the Black omen three times in this order: 1000 Ad, 600 Ad and finally 12.000 Bc. You�ll have to encounter four tough bosses in the Black omen: Mega mutant, Giga mutant, Tera mutant and Lavos spawn before you reach Queen Zeal. With the mutants use the same tactics as you used with the Zombor. The Lavos spawn is tougher Use the same tactics as with the other Lavos spawns. Crono�s confuse attack is invaluabe here. The optimal party against Zeal is Magus, Crono and Ayla. Use Ayla�s charm on Zeal�s first form. Don�t hesitate to Megaelixirs to cure the damege from the hallation attack. She has about 12.000 Hp�s. Next you�ll have to fight the mammon machine, use magic attacks only. It has about 25.000 Hp�s. Now you�ll have to the last form of Zeal. Use Ayla�s charm attack on the hands until you get 1 Prism dress and 1 Prism helmet. But have someone ready to use full tonic or turbo ether on Ayla. Use Crono�s confuse attack on Zeal�s head. Never use area effect spells in this fight. After Zeal�s defeated she summons lavos after you. Now you�ll have to fight Lavos. After it�s defeated for the third time use the gate and you�ll end up to the end of time. Talk to Gaspar to confirm that it�s time to enter bucket save your game first and restore your Hp�s and Mp�s. If you haven�t fought Spekkio�s last form do it now and preferably win. Okay time for the final showdown!


Chapter 25: The final showdown between you and Lavos!

After you�ve entered the bucket and are inside face to face with Lavos you�re on your own. I won�t help you now. You�ll have figure out the best tactics against Lavos on your own. Fight with guts and strength and don�t give up! If you fail to destroy Lavos the world is battered to death. Good luck! You�ll need it.
