This where youll find answers to little problems concerning Final Fantasies II & III. This section is constantly updated and it needs fresh tips from you. Without them this section is doomed. You can Email me your tips at [email protected]. The best tips are shown to everyone including the name of the sender. Okay I assume your here for answers instead of small talk. So Ill just shut up let you look at the tips in privacy.

Final Fantasy II

Ill begin with a few secret weapons.

Kokkols weapon shop
If youve already gotten the Excalibur Sword from the weapon smith of Kokkol, you can later return to his house and buy some unusual and very powerful weapons.

Spoon Dagger(?)

Go inside the Sylph Cave and find the Sylph mansion and talk to Yang. Then exit the cave through upstairs. Go to Fabul and talk to Yangs wife. She gives you a frying pan and tells you to give him a bang to the head. Return to Yang and do as his wife told you. After a short conversation Rydia learns to summon the Sylphs to help her. Fly back to Fabul and return the frying pan to Yangs wife and she gives you an amazingly effective Spoon Dagger for your trouble. (Spoon Dagger?!)

Treasure of the summoned monsters village

In the summoned monters village basement you see chests. But how do I get there? A hidden staircasell help. Find a mystic square in the first floor of the village. (The same floor where youll find the rat tail.) They contain valuable items such as Samurai Bow and Ether 2.

Artemis Bow

Ive heard rumours of this powerful weapon but I havent found it. *Sigh* if someone knows where it is please Email me you-know-where.

Power Robes

Ill also mention a well hidden armor thats very useful in the battle against Zeromus. After the last save point you have to deal with four section before Zeromus. In the third section (where youll usually face two Behemoths, three Red Dragons and two Evil Masks in a single battle) Youll have to slaughter tons of Behemoths. This means hour of playing. Finally you can aquire two Power Robes. (I have also found a strange item called Firebomb.)

Crystal Sword

Most of the weapons that are sealed with Zeromus are found fairly easily, but the Crystal sword is the hardest one to find. Find the hidden bridge in the floor above the last save point. The rest is easy.

Scare Zero

One of the biggest problems in Final Fantasy II seems to be the last boss Zeromus. The battle is hard enough to save your game in the nearest "Save point". Use Edges "smoke bomb" so you dont have to fight all the enemies lurking in the way to Zeromus. Take note that Zeromus wont show his true form until you use the crystal and only Cecil can use it. So you should equip your fighters with such spells as "Wall" and "Fast" and then go after Zeromus. Use Bahamut and Asura from Rydias monster summoning list and Meteo from her Black magic list. Use White spell from Rosa. These spells do the most damage. Edge can throw the Excalibur swords and Spoon daggers as if they were throwing knives. Because you dont have too much use for swords after this battle you might as well sacrifice them.

Final Fantasy III

Finding the Titinabar

This secret item is found in Mobliz, where youll find the wounded soldier from Maranda. Talk to him and send a letter to his girlfriend in Maranda through a guy who lives in the village. Itll cost 500 GP, but you dont have to spend money by staying at the inn, because you can rest in the bed of the Relic shop. After youve slept over night talk to the relic shop owner and go talk to the wounded soldier and another letter should have arrived. Repeat this until the soldier gives you a Titinabar as a token of his appriciation.

What time is it?

In Zozo youll need to reset the clock to get your hands on a Chain saw. To set the clock right youll have to talk to everyone and write down what they say. Because everyone is lying you can determine the time. If someone says that the hour hand should point at eight youll know its a lie. Slowly but surely youll be left only with a few options. By trying them youll find out the right time. But to spare time I can tell the right time. Its 6:10:50.

Busy in Vector

When the Emperor arranges a banquet you can get Gestahl to withdraw his troops from both South Figaro and Doma. You can also get through the locked door of the imperial base and get your hands on some irreplaceable items. To succeed in all of this youll have to get enough points in this system created by Square and now proudly presented by me.

Learn to dance

Most of dances in FF III Mog learns relatively easily but Water Rondo isnt that easy. The only way is to find Mog in the World of Balance and get him to join your group. Its accomplished by following the Lone Wolf in Narshe. Take Mog to Serpent Trench and start to boogie.

Rob Mog

All FF III veterans have completed this part ages ago but it may come in handy for beginners. When youre fighting in the cave to save Terra from the guards, select Mog and pilfer his weapon and shield and use them later yourself.

Kappa the Imp as a character

There are rumours that theres a hidden charater in the game called Kappa the Imp and in a way you can play as Kappa. Equip a character with the following equipment: Imp Armour, Imp Halberd, Titanium Helmet and Tortoise Shield. Then use Imp spell on the character. If you want you can use a rename card to name the character Kappa, for a right atmosphere.

A quick withdraw

If you want money and spells quickly go to the desert south of Maranda in the World of Ruin. Youll only encounter two kinds of enemies there: Hoovers and Cactrots. Youll get 10.000 GPs and 5 Magic points from Hoovers and 10 from Cactrots.

An exciting exploration trip

One of the must-visit places in the game is the forest north of Veldt, in the Worlf of Ruin. A horde of dinosaurs live there and eliminating them gives loads of useful things. A T-rex is the most common enemy and leaves an Imp halberd which you can wager in the coliseum for a more useful item. (You can steal an Imp armour from it.) A Brachiosaurus is a rarer one and harder to deal with. If you manage to defeat it you may get an Economizer that reduces the number of MPs used to 1. On top of that the forest in an excellent place to collect Exps and Magic points.
A rumour that the forest houses one of the eight dragons is false. All because of simple translation screw-up. In the japanese version it meant "Dinosaur", but Ted Woolsey translated it into dragon.

Cheats

DAMMIT! When are you going to learn that real players dont cheat, HUH ?!. Well I guess I can give you some advice. In the World of balance a monster called Intangir lives on the Triangle Island. Use Doom to destroy it. It use a Meteo spell in last attempt to defeat you. If youve equipped four of your strongest party members with the best armour you have you should survive. Youll get 10 Magic points and Experience points. This is useful if you havent defeated the Atma Weapon in the floating continent.
Well IF someone absolutely wants to cheat in good game like FF III and spoil it heres a few useful Action Replay codes for SNES:
7E208899 - Infinite HPs to Player 1
7E218899 - Infinite HPs to Player 2

Steal four times

To enable Locke to steal four times just equip him with the Thief Glove and Offering. Its that simple.

No attacks

When you find Mog in the World of Ruins go to the place he was standing and search there. Youll find the Moogle Charm. While Mog wears it you wont be attacked by random enemies. This is very useful for example in The Fanatics tower.

Cursed Shield

Those that have already found the Cursed Shield know how hard it is to live with it. Every time when someone uses it he/she goes completely insane. But the troubles are rewarded. After 255 HARD battles the Cursed Shield turns into the Paladin Shield which is one of the best armors in the game.

Air Anchor

This the most well hidden tool. In the Fanatics tower go in through the first door you see and open the chest. Before you leave search the wall right to the chest. You should hear a loud bang. Go out and youll see a new door in the floor below. The Air Anchor awaits there to be taken.

Secret episodes

There an unconfirmed rumour that claims that there are secret episodes in the game. I dont know the details but Ive heard that you should see them if do as follows:
NOTE! This rumour is unconfirmed so I cant be sure if its right or not. Ill tell you more when I learn more about the volidity of the rumour.

Translations

Not that it really matters but because majority of the people who have visited my site wanted the real names of the characters in FF III compared to FF VI, so here they are. Some of them were changed by Ted Woolsey because he didnt like them and some of them are shortened so they would fit to the american version six-letter standard.

Extra profiles

Shadow:
The mysterious ninja and his loyal friend Interceptor come and go as they like during the whole game. If you dont want to lose Shadow permanently when the world is about to be destroyed select "Wait" when the floating island is about to collapse. It seems like a stupid choice but when the timer reads 5 sec remaining, Shadow comes running and jumps into the airship.

Cyan:
The knight from Doma seems strong but hes suffering from the gruesome death of his family and wants to avenge Kefka worse than anyone in the group. Because Celes in an imperial general Cyan doesnt trust her and in the same team Cyan accuses her from one thing after another. To conquer the nightmares that torment him go to Doma in the World of Ruins and spend the night there and help Cyan to defeat the monster thats taring him apart.

Edgar:
A king, diplomat and on top of that hes a womanizer. Hes also a collabarator for the Returners. He has so many titles that at first he seems like a horrible snob. But when you reach Sabin youll find a second half of Edgar. Hes haunted by the fact that the Empire killed his father. To get over it take both Edgear and Sabin to Figaro Castle and spend the night there.

Rumours of ways to revive Aeris

Its high time that this matter is locked: THERES NO WAY TO REVIVE AERIS! Period. And I cant figure out why some people still go hunting for a hopeless dream. Stop it, any moron should have figured it out by now. (If my words not convincing enough visit the following web site: Http://www.members.aol.com/Lokiwebgod/index.html and see the tips and tricks section. For all the details.
And for one last timeAeris is dead. Let her rest in peace and stop pursuing a hopeless dream. But if you still want to go on be my quest, youre only wasting your time.
Me? I gave up hope on the matter long time ago.
Or as Barret would say:"Whatever we do theres no way well ever see her again."
For those that dont know the rumour here it is:

First off, throughout the game, you must make the logical choice of things to say to Aeris to indicate that you like her. You must never hurt her in any way by choice. What happens in scenarios, however, cannot be avoided (Aeris' beating by Cloud, for instance). Also, with the sick man. There is no medicine, but you could have Aeris tend to him and make him feel better, by learning about her heritage and returning to Midgar in the first CD. By doing this, the "GENERAL" as people call him, would trust you, and request you go buy his dying friend something from the store. A simple quest. After doing so, the GENERAL would tell you thanks, and that if there was anything else you need ever, to ask him for help. You then see a scene with his friend dying. A sad scene. :(

Now, continue through the game as normal, and after Aeris dies, go on to the second CD. Once here, return to Midgar with the key from CD1, and the GENERAL will ask you where the nice girl (Aeris) is. You explain that she has died, by Sephiroth, and that there is no hope in reviving her. There would be a chance, but only if you could go deep under the waters of the floating castle (where Aeris died). The GENERAL would tell you that he thinks he may be able to help, and to come back later. After this meeting, you were to go on to Aeris' church, where there would be a long scene with her spirit. If you had been nice to her, she would express a desire to return to help you. After doing this, return to the GENERAL, who would provide you with a Yellow materia that allowed the entire group to travel through water. With this, you could return to the floating palace, go up to Mr. Fish, and once you touched him, you would be transported under water, to a cavern, where, at the end, lay Aeris' orb/life essence. With this orb, Bugen Hagen could complete the ress process, and you could move on to a happier life with a neater ending.

As for me I NEVER want to hear the words "Resurrecting Aeris" ever again!

Financial problems?

Yeah, we all know how frustrating this is right? Its annoying that the shop NEVER give any discount. And youre usually missing just a few thousand gil when stocking up new item(s). Well heres some useful tips: 1. If you have several MASTER level materia orbs that you dont need try selling one of them, youll get about 1,400 000 gil each. 2. Try defeating Movers (the little three red balls that bounce up and down.) youll get 90000 gil per battle plus three turbo ethers AND 2400 pts for materia orbs. 3. Try selling old, useless epquipment away.

Materia growth

Tough, materia growth is a pretty long and somewhat annoying. First of all you need to make sure that the weapon/armour youre using has empty materia slots. Second pay close attention to the rate of growth: nothing, normal, double, triple.
Nothing: means that the materia doesnt get ANY points if its placed in this slot. These kinds of slots are best for MASTER level materia orbs.
Normal: means that the materia gets the exact number of points stated after the battle.
Double: means that the orb placed in this slot gets double the amount of points stated after the battle.
Triple: means that the materia gets the points tripled after a battle. The weapons that has this kind of materia growth are very rare and usually the slot number is limited to two or three. (I know only two weapons that have triple materia growth and theyre the scimitar and the apocalypse.) These slots are best for orbs that need a lot of points.

Materia blend

Materia blend can only be performed if you have mastered all the materia orbs of the corresponding huge materia. (20 magic materias, 13 command materias ect.) If you have mastered all the materia orbs go to Bugenhagens observatory (youll drop off the huge materias here later in the game.) and get close to the huge materia. Youll be asked do you want to perform a materia blend. If you say "yes" youll lose one of each (green, yellow, red) MASTER level materia and they will be packed into one Master magic, command or summon. The master materia allows you to use all the magics, commands or summon without any disadvantages (or advantages) of normal materia equipping and it only takes one materia slot, neat huh? The materia blend can be performed as many times as you want if you have enough master materias. (Not to mention patience.) but you have to be careful with one thing: When materia reaches MASTER level it begins to divide the new materia is an orb that doesnt have any points. and you also have to note that you can carry 200 materia orbs at max. So if you reach the limit head for the nearest shop to sell out the accsess materia.
